The Final Chord Sounds

Working on guitar this semester has been challenging, but I am thankful for the opportunity I have had to become a little better at something that will help my career and something I love doing. My knowledge of chords and strumming patterns has improved. Before, I struggled to strum without picking as well because of my bluegrass and old time guitar experience. Practicing a variety of strum patterns made changing up styles much easier.

I also learned to play some of my favorite Irish songs, including "Parting Glass" and "Raglan Road." I was even able to accompany myself and my students when I taught fourth graders to sing the round "I Love the Mountains" as a part of the field experience for my Foundations of Education course.

There are many things left for me to learn about playing guitar, but I've appreciated the opportunity to improve over the course of this semester. I look forward to continuing the work I've started.
