The second part of my project is the one which took the most time. In order to learn the locations of each country, I primarily used "Countries of the World Quiz" from Jetpunk.com. The quiz allots fifteen minutes to name as many countries as possible with the ultimate objective being to name them all. I took the quiz at least once a day for about six weeks and continued to take it periodically as a refresher. I also sought other similar quizzes to make sure I had grasped the material regardless of the setting in which it was presented. I put together world map jigsaw puzzles whenever I had the chance.

Some of the challenges I ran into were memorizing the geography of the Carribbean, the Pacific, northern Asia, and Eurasia, which are full of small countries that I had rarely heard about. It also became confusing that some sources consider Palestine to be the 197th country while others acknowledge that its people are as yet a stateless nation. But generally speaking, the task was very straightforward.

Since having become so familiar with this branch of world geography, I have become more competent in classes and in interpreting current events. I feel much better informed from studying this one basic subject. All that remains now is to master world capitols!
