The Geography of My New Plan

So, as I became involved in the INtopFORM project, I discovered that while I am excited to help out and plan to continue participating, the project is a little less developed than I had realized. It became evident that I would not be able to work on the project for twenty hours this semester.
Luckily, like any honors kid/nerd, I have a lot of interests, and this semester I have been focusing my energies on improving my knowledge of world geography. I began this in January project as a history major and future social studies teacher but am continuing to study geography, an area in which I have a lot of interest, for fun even as a music education student. My studies have involved/will involve three main areas: first, a review of U.S. states and capitols; second, the learning of the location of every country on the map; and third, the learning of the capitols of each country. The first two steps have both already been completed, but today I will focus on the first.
I learned a good deal of U.S. geography for the first time in the fifth grade. My classmates and I were required to study the states by region but my interest led me to learn their capitols as well. Taking my passion back home, I even made my own U.S. maps in effort to verse my family in states and capitols. So I have been interested in this topic for quite a while. It only took a couple of days to make sure I knew where each state was (darn Vermont and New Hampshire were always the holdup) and remind myself of their capitol cities. As part of the re-familiarizing process, I also filled in a map detailing the states that I have visited, which I continue to keep and update as my travels expand.
